Research Interests

  • Large Amplitude collective motion.
  • The exact renormalisation group and the (nuclear) many-body problem.
  • Accurate description of light and medium mass nuclei using the coupled-cluster method.
  • Many-body approaches to quantum field theory.
  • Non-linear physics (solitons) in simple models of molecules and molecular wires;
  • Skyrmions and topological excitations in condensed matter systems.
Further interests:
  • Linux and Beowulfs. I have a strong interest in do-it-yourself high-performance computing, mainly using linux. "Beowulf" type clusters are a special favourite, see my MadDog web page.
